The purpose of First Fridays is to bring together like-minded positive Black people in creative and dynamic ways. Each first Friday of the month, we along with hundreds of loyal patrons explore, experience, and network in the city’s top venues. The First Fridays vibe is classy, laidback and turned up all at the same time, with some of the most incredible themes and entertainment in the Midwest.

The History of First Fridays

First Fridays started in Columbus in the 90’s as an after-work networking happy hour. It quickly became the go-to event for the city’s movers and shakers, and for people from all across Ohio that enjoyed the fun professional atmosphere. The inaugural First Fridays event welcomed 200 guests and over the years, the First Fridays brand has grown to hosting entire weekends with thousands of patrons in attendance from across the US.
